We got up early and waited and waited then you heard a plop! Similar to a whale surfacing the platypus came out of no where. The platypus would surface then go under. Two minutes later it would surface again.
It was actually on the other side of the creek but at least we caught a brief photo of it. Both of us actually thought it was baby, however that is actually the size they get as adults.
We then continued on to view the Malanda Falls, another one of Australia's beautiful water falls. We were lucky enough to have an older gentleman from England ask us if we would like a photo.
You can sort of tell by this photo that we had a late night and early morning. We actually stayed up late by the creek the night before hoping to see the platypus. Luckly we gave it another go in the morning.
