Moe Cup - Moe - October 18, 2007

The Moe Cup is probably the biggest day of the year in Moe. Locals actually get the chance to take the day off. It is basically a day of horse racing, dressing up fancy and drinking.

Chelsea, Kristy, Troy and Natalie.

The girls found a marque which got them free drinks, hence the double fisting.

Nick Cave And Grinderman - The Forum, Melbourne - Oct 17, 2007

Chelsea and the two of us went in to Melbourne, this time to The Forum to see Nick Cave and teh Grinderman. It was something special to see Nick Cave in his home country. He started out his career playing the bars of Melbourne. The Forum was gorgeous, complete with Gothic architecture and most importantly fantastic sound. Highlights for both of us was Cave playing our wedding song, Into My Arms on the piano.

If this tour comes to Canada, GO SEE IT! Grinderman rocked hard. We spent a little time up front a couple feet from the band to hear and see the experience in the loudest possible way. Outstanding.

Greg grew Nick Cave handlebar mustache for the event.

Greg swears he was pointing at him.

Warren Ellis on the far left played a fantastic violin.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert - The Musical - October 3, 2007

Now listen here, you mullet. Why don't you just light your tampon, blow your box apart? Because it's the only bang you're ever gonna get, sweetheart! - Bernadette. (Famous quote from Priscilla)

Well once again we went to Melbourne. This time to the Regent to see the musical, Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Based on the movie of the same name. We both agreed that it was easily as good or better than Momma Mia

The three main cast members.

The costumes were outstanding and the singing was unbelievable. ***** Stars

Natalie's Birthday - September 15, 2007

For the sixth time Greg set up a surprise birthday for Natalie. This time with the two of us returning from Melbourne the family gathered at a local watering hole called Rookies to surprise Natalie. Natalie was told that we were going out for the footy finals in Newborough.

Birthday gift from the family. We ended up purchasing Priscilla tickets with this gift.

Mick and his new girlfriend, Amanda.

Afterwards Mick and Amanda took us out on the town. Of course getting home at 6pm as bars are open all night in Australia. Good times,
Happy birthday Natalie!

Melbourne With Trish - September 14-15, 2007

Trish took us to Melbourne to celebrate Nick's last day at work and Natalie's birthday. Greg had Duck Tortellini and Natalie had a wonderful pasta dish.

We then went to Melbourne's State Library and viewed the armour of the famous bushranger Ned Kelly. Ned Kelly was to many, a folk hero for his defiance of the colonial authorities. Born near Melbourne to an Irish convict father, as a young man he clashed with the police. After an incident at his home, police parties went in search of him. After murdering three policemen, he and his gang were proclaimed outlaws. A final violent confrontation with police at Glenrowan, with Kelly dressed in home-made plate metal armour and helmet, led to his capture and trial. He was executed by hanging at Melbourne Gaol in 1880. His daring and notoriety made him an iconic figure in Australian history, folk lore, literature, art and film.

Cuneiform writing, was one of the first developed forms of recorded information. And is very tiny as you can see.

This photo was part of the Karin Catt exhibition, Famous. This of course is his holiness the Dahi Lama

This of course is Greg's idol, Robin Williams.

This is the famous Cloe picture, at Young and Jackson's. Greg taught the bar how to make a black velvet. The head bartender actual made with Greg's instructions and then got her whole staff to try it. The Verdict: Canadians know their booze.
