Melbourne With Trish - September 14-15, 2007

Trish took us to Melbourne to celebrate Nick's last day at work and Natalie's birthday. Greg had Duck Tortellini and Natalie had a wonderful pasta dish.

We then went to Melbourne's State Library and viewed the armour of the famous bushranger Ned Kelly. Ned Kelly was to many, a folk hero for his defiance of the colonial authorities. Born near Melbourne to an Irish convict father, as a young man he clashed with the police. After an incident at his home, police parties went in search of him. After murdering three policemen, he and his gang were proclaimed outlaws. A final violent confrontation with police at Glenrowan, with Kelly dressed in home-made plate metal armour and helmet, led to his capture and trial. He was executed by hanging at Melbourne Gaol in 1880. His daring and notoriety made him an iconic figure in Australian history, folk lore, literature, art and film.

Cuneiform writing, was one of the first developed forms of recorded information. And is very tiny as you can see.

This photo was part of the Karin Catt exhibition, Famous. This of course is his holiness the Dahi Lama

This of course is Greg's idol, Robin Williams.

This is the famous Cloe picture, at Young and Jackson's. Greg taught the bar how to make a black velvet. The head bartender actual made with Greg's instructions and then got her whole staff to try it. The Verdict: Canadians know their booze.
