Day 16 - Lyndhurst Ochre Quarry to Redbank Conservation Park - S.A.

Day 16 - First stop of the day was a Lyndhurst Ochre Quarry. There were several huge pits of ranging colours of ochre.

We passed through the town of Peterborough in South Australia. After driving for several hours we came to Redbank Conservation Park where we set up camp for the night.

The pits at Lyndhurst were huge and very vibrant.

Passed through Peterborough and thought of home. We have actually been through Toronto, Hampton, but no luck on passing through Oshawa... hmmm I wonder why?

Crikey! The Lizard Hunter. We came across another Shingleback Lizard.

Minutes later we came across our first Bearded Dragon.

Of course Mick had to pick him up. Surprisingly his skin isn't course. Much like the skin of a croc or a snake it is very soft. The little spikes look ferocious but they are there simply for looks. They were actually quite soft similar to the rest of his body.
The bearded dragon almost got us in trouble because the warden saw us stop and thought we were picking up wood in the reserve which is illegal. The funny thing is the wood we collected early was not even found in the reserve and Larry had to teach the warden the difference in tree specimans.

Our camp site was a beautiful spot on the reserve. There was a cliff that looked down on an old creek or river bed that Greg went Kangaroo watching at dusk and damn.
